Get your own 50' air hose. Get the neon colored one that won't freeze and crack. You don't want to be stuck in the middle of nowhere without being able to inflate your tires.

Pressure guage for pressure, weekly depending on tires. Thump for flat condition, every day. 3hrs/150 miles HazMat loads.

Buy a good tire pressure gauge, do not buy one at a truck stop. I got a great pressure gauge, digital, the kind used in NASCAR pits, at a NAPA store. $80, got my discount $49. I recommend, strongly.

This is completely true and valid, Lepton1. Mine is green, non-kinking hose. Also, look down the bore of the chuck. It should have a threadbody inside the device. Those threads will grab on to your valve stems, so all you have to do is count the seconds. Or minutes, if it's a supersingle. The cheapaxx ones are smooth bore, and you'll have to stand there or kneel there the whole dang time. I'm sure you can imagine times and places where you won't want to do that. Believe me, the threaded air chucks are way, way more user friendly.

I do not even have a guess how many times that glad hand air chuck has saved me a long, dreary stop or worse, a long, dreary, and expensive road service. Correctly inflated tires are a whole lot less likely to overheat and blow out, or bubble, or throw the tread, killing the old lady in the '93 Taurus.

A Bug, the hose and chuck will last for some years, so don't be cheap on this critical tool.

Don't forget to get a pack of valve stems, and a pack of flow-thru caps to compliment your new glad hand air chuck. Oh, and a valve stem tool.

With a good heavy hammer. You'll feel it at 70 pounds. The lighter hammers won't feel it much. also. Pay attention to tire bulge. Which is what happens when tires get low on air.. they bulge.
