You can buy other products like Fit Fruit & Vegetable Wash or use soap (diluted in water), diluted hydrogen peroxide, whatever. Water alone only removes some water-soluble residues; it does not remove some oil based residues like some pesticides, waxy preservatives or even the oils from other peoples hands.

There are other considerations you might want to use more than just water as well like …

You sound like the kinda guy/gal that doesn’t wash your hands after you take a crap either but even if ya do, the laborers that picked your produce likely don’t. Then there are the many other examples of direct/indirect contact with animal & human feces on produce, not to mention the pesticides and other fun stuff but they likely will not be of interest to you either.

Whatever DNA samples from animals & other people you get in the growing/harvesting/processing/transporting/retailing of produce along with the pesticides and other nasty’s are fine with me that you have no issue ingesting them. Enjoy!

Just hauling the occasional refer load makes me wanna make sure I do something for my produce. Trailers aren't exactly "clean", even after a washout.

no, i do in fact wash my hans after taking a crap. thats totally different than washing everything in the parking lot with soap and water.

you guys are going to drive yourself nuts with this, in in fact you already havent done so. come on relax. still, lmao

I'll take your side chunkpunk. Water...vegetables.... 3 pages. How hard can it be? Kind of a redundant thread.

Now me, I'll take a stalk of celery, my fishing rod and a #4 treble hook, then I'll go back to the holding pond.... every truck stop has one..... wallah!! Like eating fresh fish. :)

I'm no vegan but i wsstrongly suggest you use soap when u wash your fruits and veggies, easy to do, buy a little bottle of dish soap and rinse well.
On the road or at home you should always use soap, I do. I gew up on a farm before everything was store bought.
For the same reason you use soap when you wash your hands and don't just rinse them. Pesticicides and herbicides don't come off either unless you use soap.
