How does a carrier get access to hauling containers from the ports?

1099 yourself on with a port drayage company. Not too long ago they were offering low interest loans for trucks, you just had to sign a 5yr contract with the port.

I personally have never tried to go about it,,manly because I never thought it would be profitable enough to mess with but I don’t know that much about the rates either.But you have to work with the ship lines not the port authority they have nothing to do with giving out the freight.I don’t know your story but I do know the ship lines wouldn’t work with 1 truck carriers might have changed that I don’t knowG13Tomcat Thanks this.
