I didn't get the impression that he's looking to get it done for a grand. He said he made the round trip in his f250 and it cost about a grand in fuel.
Terry270 Thanks this. -
No, you misunderstood. I do expect to pay a fair price. I made the round trip in my truck hauling nothing and it cost over a grand. My trailer will handle one car or the tractor, so I'd be doing three round trips for those vehicles, plus another for my motorcycles. My thought was that if I could find a guy who has a three-car trailer he could take both cars and the tractor for less than the cost of three round-trips.
I guess "small tractor" is a matter of perspective. In my mind it's a small tractor, but perhaps you wouldn't think so. I just looked in the manual, and the weight of the tractor is just about 4100 pounds. Add the backhoe attachment and it's probably somewhere just over 5000. The original post stated that the tractor is smaller than my pickup truck, and that's true.Last edited: Sep 23, 2017

I'm not sure what those guys were talking about in previous posts about your cars disappearing. I think they just post stuff, and not actually have anything to do with trucking.
1. Find local car hauling company's and ask for qoute. Not all company's travel that way so they might try to rebroker the load.
2. Once driver comes he will need to give you his BOL and it's pretty much a contract. Check the MC and DOT on the bol, look it up online if they are active. If all good that means they are insured and anything happens you can claim their insurance.
3. If you think going thru a broker makes anything more secure, it's not. Brokers will dispatch to anyone with an active mc number.defranks Thanks this. -
What you say about a broker is partially true, a crap broker can be just as bad of a decision as an illegal carrier. But with a quality broker your vehicle will be covered under their insurance as well just in case the carrier pulls something shady
