I've browsed these forums enough to know that not all truckers are men of character and sterling qualities and some have been known to "stretch the truth" with respect to log book entries.

For my personal enrichment, does anybody know how others cheat? (I realize nobody on this forum cheats, so I am looking for information that you learned from others or what you look for when auditing log books).

Soooo, let's hear about the various shenanigans that are prevalent in the log book world!

So are you looking for ways you can cheat your book or are you fishing for ways to catch drivers doing it?

Doesnt really matter, the basics are still the same
Run out to the end of the chain and then "back up"
Log book tweaking isnt a science secret, its 4 time lines marking 24hrs

When you can log it as you run it without problems its best to do so
When it aint best to do so you adjust "backwards",fuel stops are your mile markers and the rest is like the gearbox. Which should be floated :biggrin_25525:
Run a round robin and drop the last trip instead of running into a 34.:biggrin_2559:

Be ready for the Legal Eagles to ramble for another 20 pages . . .

Fudge on my log? Wouldn't that make it messy and hard to read? :biggrin_25525:

For some it seems to be rocket science just to log it as they do it though.

    Rerun8963 and Yup Thank this.

We do that? I dint think it could be done, always ran 3 books. lol jk if youre a driver like they said above best to log as you do. If you dont know what youre doin youll mess up running the risk of HOS or OOS and or fines. A possible coloring lesson and the biggest headache youve ever had. If 1 day looks like a brownie then theyll check every day. backin your books is like split loggin if you dont know it dont do it.
