How far back do trucking companies check criminal background?

Facebook and Craigslist have trucking pages and many are successful finding jobs there.

 

Waste Management, in many areas, hires drivers with no experience. The pay is pretty good and so are the benefits. Do that for a couple of years if you have to.
Here's one in OKC, but it's Class-B cdl. It's a start though and since you have a Class-A cdl probably easy to move up to a Class-A job once they company knows you're reliable and hard worker.

B. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements

• Commercial Drivers License B (CDL).
• The CDL is a requirement, therefore, an applicant must be 18 years of age.
• Successfully complete pre-employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, and motor vehicle record review.
• Acceptable driving record required.

Some rules in life. Stick to the rules. Like what has already been posted, fill out the online app. They usually tell you how far back they are looking in the questions. When they call and ask if you ever... answer the way you answered on the app, like "nothing in the last 10 years." There are those of us that would be in your shoes but just didn't get caught. There's being honest and there's shooting yourself in the foot.

 

Hello. I'm a new member here and will be taking my road test tomorrow (10/30), and feel pretty confident Ill pass. With that said I have a felony conviction from NY back in 1998 for Burg 3rd. And another conviction out of Oregon from 2017 for Felon in Poss of Firearm. The last felony will be 7 years old come this March. My driving record is clean, squeaky clean. I have a spotty work history which might look bad on paper unfortunately.. but I'm also trying very hard to be a better person now and picked a career I felt would better fit my life and help me become more successful. I live in the Western NY area, between Buffalo and Rochester. Really looking for anyone that will work with me and give me a chance to prove myself. Any leads you guys can offer would greatly be appreciated. Thank you in advance!
