i will start by saying i respect my boss for the company he has built and his equipment. however certain things can not be allowed to continue without me seeking employment elsewhere. yesterday things got kind of bad. my boss has a potty mouth (put it politely). yesterday i did my normal loads at indian church road (stone). they always stop on fridays at 3pm (construction crew) so i had to call my boss and ask him what he needed. i had to back to the quarry pick up #3 crush and run. no problem. he told me to meet him on tinkerham rd. we were at tinkerham rd the day before and knew it intersects clinton. as that was the way we traveled there the day before, that's the way i went yesterday for the first load. when i got there he was pissed off because tinkerham runs to rt 20 which would have been quite a bit faster. how was i to know that? he failed to inform me that there was a better way to go, so i took the route i was familiar with. this is the guy that i suggested i look at where i was going BEFORE i LEFT with the GPS, he said we dont have time for that. so i did as he wants, i knew how to get there, i started the truck and drove. i was not informed there was a better route ( a simple telling me to go to that same road on rt 20 could have avoided this).

then when i was backing in it took me a couple of attempts to get it right, a couple of minutes at most. i have had my CDL for less then a year so i still take my time. i got the load where it needed to be no problem just perhaps longer then a more experienced driver. the boss opens his big mouth says i am like a woman that was put on this earth to annoy him. he then proceeded to call me a dumb motherf(fill in the rest, figure it out cant type that here). he used those exact words. all this did was make me very angry. i said nothing in response. at the end of the day as i was leaving, i told him i had enough insults for a day. i hauled 10 loads in an 11 hour period and this is what i got. i think i did OK for a rookie, yes there was a better way to get to the location but i got there, probably cost less then 10 minutes. sharing information could have avioded it entirely. if it takes me a little longer to back into the driveway, as long as i dont hit anything what's the big deal. the job i have been on for the last month does not involve backing into a driveway, so yes admittedly i need more practice.

i have never damaged a truck, i get the loads where they need to be, and this is how i get spoken too. sorry but i dont think i can allow cursing and foul language directed towards me. how much bad language and rude behavior should i allow. this is not the first time i had to put up with this type of mouth from him.

    Lepton1 Thanks this.

You should have already quit. Why respect the loser at all? 1. Grow a pair. 2. tell him to go F himself and 3. get another job. Maybe save step 2 until after you get another job.

Oh boy, the saga continues. I guess this is Part 2. Put in your 2 week notice.
If I was in your shoes, confront him about that. Seems like he wants to micromanage his drivers.

part of the problem is getting another job while working. he has me doing 5 12 hour shifts per week, it is difficult to seek alternative driving when i am driving everyday. i dont have much time to spare. i like the overtime, but my free time is only on the weekends and no office people are around on the weekends. i tried calling zolads construction and tracey trucking and a couple other small companies. no one answers the phone on the weekends.

The internet is your friend. Learn how to use it wisely. Emails, applications, etc. Btw, the internet is 24/7 incase you didn't know.

Why do you need to inquire on a forum about this? I m confused.

No one is going to say this is ok, and just "keep on trucking", use your noggin.

Give it right back!!! Probably get more respect that way. I worked for a guy just like that. He was a foot shorter than me and about 100# lighter. He had no problem yelling and carrying on like that. We were in a very high stress crane environment and he was the owner. I let it go a bit knowing the kind of stress he was under. One 100° day putting our 600 ton together he blew up at me and I jumped out of the truck and gave it right back. I can't say it was perfect after that but it was a whole lot better!! No man or woman should have to put up with that sort of abuse!!
