How fast can you safely go with tire chains on?

    Getting chains on correctly helps to go a "little faster" without incidence. Getting to the "right link" and having an optimal tire size (wear) is about all that dictates wether you can safely run 25 or 35 MPH. Any faster, (regardless) and you're testing basic laws of physics and finding out what sort of damage you can incur.

    "Tightening" with bungies DOES NOT allow you to go any faster. Centrifugal force is not impeded by rubber bungie cords.

    I regularly see Fedex doing 55-60 with Tire Chains on I've never gone over 30, the Ride smooths out above 20

    If there is a good snow pack on the road I will do 30-35mph but if there isn't much snow I will stick around 20-25mph. Of course your speed will vary depending on conditions.
