    I haven't run out that way in years. Don't know if they still do but the CHP used to run with CB radios in their units. One got on and asked me if I knew what the speed limit was. Hadn't even seen him sneak up on me. But I got the message and he went on his way. Had them tell me to slow down more than once running out on I 10/40. Best thing is to try and stay in the right lane without changing lanes a lot. That always seemed to get their attention.

    Yep, ...keep it around 60 and don't set up shop in the hammer lane and you should be be okay

    HA I DON'T Cali can fall off the planet and will before I come back out there. Never have I seen a state that hates truckers so much yet needs them for everything.

    We always figured that the Big Earthquake will drop the rest of the continent off into the ocean and California will become an island. Most of us who were born here like that idea.
    Now, if we can just get a few million more people to move out....;)

    :rolleyes: Let me think about that for a second, I drive around 65 all day long, we have beautiful weather all year around(SoCali), we have gorgeous “seat cover” to look at when passing by and I haven’t gotten pulled for inspection over 2 years. Yup, I’m waiting for that Big Earthquake as @REO6205 mentioned to make us an Island and keep the haters away. :D:p:cool:;)

    Nope. They're the ones who when leaving California were warned about Idaho's winters. They replied "It's okay, we have money". When it was mentioned that Idaho, at least back a few years, was pleasingly conservative in their values and their fiscal habits replied "It's okay, we'll vote the liberals in...and we have money".
    No thanks @Oxbow . I know some good people up there and I'm sorry for what California did to your state but if I had my way we'd never let them back in here.

    I moved away from California in 1996 after I started driving a truck. My company said 4 - 6 weeks out if I lived in Cali and 1-2 weeks living near DFW. For me that and the fact that Texas had not income tax made the decision the move a no brainer, at the time.
    But I always missed the weather and having the ocean, the Bay and Delta, many lakes and rivers, the mountains, the Bay Area for going to ball games etc, Reno or Tahoe if I wanted to throw some money away all within a 2 to 3 hr drive from where I was living on the far north Sacramento County line. Fishing around here can be pretty good but the different variety of fishing out there can't be beat.
    And I had planned on moving back there when I retired. But between the way real estate sky rocketed after I left, and the fact that most of the family and friends I had out there either left the state or died, I will likely stay here.
    Even the fact that they have the inmate running the asylum out there and all of the social issues the major cities have, the fact is that California is still one the the most scenic states and I do miss living there at times.

    Truth be known, many of the folks that have moved here are somewhat conservative, and thusfar haven't tried to completely change the way things are done. But the shear numbers of people coming in are changing things. I had to wait for TWO WHOLE MINUTES at a stop sign last week. Sheesh.
