I know I am going to ask the recruiter when he calls but maybe some of you can answer before then. If I go with a company that offers training how do I get the Cdl in my state? Do I just go through the DMV? DO they have some kind of third party that can issue them I'm confused and partially because I know when you pay to go to a school some of them can issue you the certificate or something that you actually do not go to the DMv. Would any one recommend going through a company as opposed to paying out right for a school. Any help would be appreciated. Also should I go ahead and get my permit.

Sometimes, you have to get your permit/cdl in the state you get your training, then transfer it to your home state later. You have to have your CDL in the state you reside in, bottom line.

When I started school I didn't have a CDL. When we finished classroom training we went to the DMV in Tennessee and took the test. We were then given a Tennessee CDL. As soon as my school was over I went to the DMV in Arkansas and exchanged it for an Arkansas license. I only had a Tennessee license for about 2 weeks.

If you think u can pass the state test then go get ur CDL on your own. It's not a hard test. Here it's all computerized and multiple answers.
