Many companies say no more than 3 on your license.
You have 2 strikes walking in the door. High risk.
One ticket, and they have to let you go. Due mostly to insurance requirements.
It doesn't disqualify you all together. But it makes it extremely difficult to find someone who will hire you. -
Actually your license should be spotless. Before spending the money you best make sure you can get a job in trucking, seems the recruiters right now are only taking the cream of the crop. Sorry kid you're not the cream.
I'd get a written gurantee from Roadmaster if they are going to place you with someone that indeed it happens. -
Try to get a pre-hire with Werner. They take 21. If they do, at least you got somewhere to go.

On the speeding tickets, it depends how long ago, and how much over the limit you were. If they were both in the same year, that makes it difficult. Of course, this is in NORMAL times, and these are not normal times. In this hiring environment, recruiters are more able to pick and choose. Going in with two tickets right off the bat puts you at or near the bottom of the pile.

Do not go to school until you have been at least pre-hired by more than one company!!!!!!!!!!!
Your age is a liability as well as your driving record!!!! It would be insane to go to school and pay the tuition only to find out that nobody will hire you!rocknroll nik Thanks this. -
Sorry to have to say it, but I probably would not call you for an interview with your tickets on the record.
In today's economy and with the way insurance companies are,
it would be wasting both of our time. You would be considered a high risk candidate and frankly there are hundreds and hundreds of qualified drivers with no accidents or tickets to choose from.
Don't mean to be harsh, but it is the cold hard truth. When I stopped driving two years ago, I would have said and maybe even would have given someone with some tickets a chance, but
in today's economy, companies can't afford to do it anymore unfortunately. We now are seeing more and more people out for money in this economy going after drivers and companies to get money through lawyers because of the companies deeper pockets. They are even going after drivers now.Even smaller accidents or things like ice falling off the tops of trailers are beginning to pop up more and more. Please all drivers keep this in mind now a days. Make sure your pre trips and post trips etc... are done throughly. If a lawyer can see a hole in the armor, he is going to use it against you. Good Luck, let's hope for a quick recovery to this economy. -
I can tell you I was turned down by Carolina Cargo because of ONE speeding ticket a year and a half ago, and that is my ONLY ticket in the past 12 years!
-
21 and 2 tickets...Your going to be hard to insure.. I would wait tell their a few years old before spending money for a cdl. Remember that school has an expiration. If you get a CDl and don't drive a combination within like 6months you may have to do it all over again.

I my self turn 21 here in march and have 1 speeding ticket. But i wont be able to go otr before august so maybe by then the crap hole economy might improve my fingers are crossed.
