http = hyper text transfer protocol
https = hyper text transfer protocol secure

means the information coming and going is encrypted.

i would recommend being very wary of entering in any form of payment information on a website if you do NOT see https at the beginning of the URL.

Back when I made my living on eBay I would have to spend hours every week explaining to my customers that they had been phished in 100 different ways.

Its so simple. NEVER EVER login through an email. Go directly to the website. Dont login through an email. Dont login through an email.

    Its just that simple...

The original link goes to a site which redirects to Wombat security, which asks for info. Avast (my security program) has the sight as grey, which means they can't vouch for it's security.

    Is this Irony?

    Like Beer Runner,
If I EVER receive an email from ANY of my billing companies when I usually don't, I ignore the email, go to the site using my saved link to them & check my account that way or last result, call them. If the info in the email is false, I just forward it to the company's SPAM/ABUSE email link & let them take care of it.

My father is an intelligent guy but he gets phished constantly. Take the time to look at the address bar and make sure you are where you think you are.

Here's another way to prevent being phished or let the NSA snoop on you:

Put your phone into airplane mode while playing games.
Most games don't need an Internet connection to run, but their ad networks do. Killing the connection will block ads from displaying and stop the transmission of your personal data, both by the game and by third-party ads. Airplane mode may also help your game run a little more smoothly as the processor stops trying to load ads.

I dont know if this is in the same realm of what you all are talking about since i really dont understand all the computer mumbo jumbo.
I use Mozilla fire fox as my search engine and an a extension or "Add on" called "Flag Fox" it shows a flag of the country of the site you are on in the address bar.
If you click on that "Flag" it will give you a lot of info about the nearest server the site is using and their IP address location etc.
For instance "TTR" is using a server in "Fort worth Texas" and it shows the closest postal code and other info.
My point being it seems to be a good tool to use when ordering on line just to make sure you are ordering in USA instead of Sweden.
I also caught that at some point a virus had changed my search engine address to Poland instead of USA.
If this has nothing to do with what you folks are talking about --please ignore what i posted. LOL

I too found it ironic that the link sent me to a fill in all the blanks page. I thought that was the test....I passed. Wombat needs none of my info and that's what it got
