It's a completely different world. Everything including turning radius is a whole new learning curve. Turning clearances differ load to load and is something always on your mind.

Any more pictures like that and we'll have to start nominating car haulers as Play Mates Of The Year ! ........... and IF you post any more of those pictures, the gore doesn't bother me, but for Pete's sakes, comb the leg hair !!
........ OK, seriously, don't get me started on wounds ..... we've all had them ........ and if you haven't ........... you will !
"Tie Down Bar Arm" ...... 'Chronic Clutch Foot Charlie Horse' ..... 'Rotator Cuff' ......... 'GP' or 'JEEP' (general service) lacerations ......... anybody wanna add ....... ? -
Every time you smack your finger with the tie down bar while tighting down a ratchet that's much looser than you thought......
Every time your pulling out your skids and they suddenly stop.....
and my favorite when you go to get out of the truck and you totally miss the step and look like a drunk prom queen holding onto the seat......daddy2twins Thanks this. -

I like it it the most when it happens at the fuel island. You know from driving a stinger you park just far enough back to turn your shoes into skates.Hammer166 Thanks this. -
Just dont chat on your phone while loading the top deck like i saw a dude do down at the auction in orlando and yea im sure we have all done it lol.
Needless to say he stepped off the head rack with one ankle between the deck and outside rail and proceeded to hang upside down with his ankle facing the opposite direction
But generally Car Hauling if your new is alot of work i train guys .just got done training my 3rd in a row
And they all say the same thing no matter what there age are background
"Man didnt think it was so much Work"
"Man its Raining we dont load in that do we?"
But all in all for exp guys its nothing to it because we have done it and have our own little patterns.
When your new you are not organized so you will walk from one side of the truck to the other side of the truck 50 times instead of finishing one side then moving to the other.
You will forget alot of the details like pinning some decks,Putting up Straps or chains and when you load next wondering what happen to them are where your only tie down bar went???
When I went from over the road doing POV's loading 1-2 at a time to the rail the first month it killed me loading a full load at one time i was like WTF lol but you get used to it and get a pattern.
Things Ive Done?
Ive had 40 snitches in my calf from breaking one of my rules i tell my boys never to do but i was in a hurry and played dumbA#$# and pushed the bar down with my leg yea you know how that turned out.
Use to wear flip flops well i stopped that when i was walking down a deck and my toe went past the end of the flip flop and stuck into one of the wholes on the deck..Yea that was fun -
Friggin OUCH!!! The only time I wore flip flops- well actually my cheapo shower shoes- was at Manheim Framingham MA, on an auction day. It was friggin POURING rain, so I threw on my good old USMC gortex over t shirt and shorts, and swapped sneakers for flip flops. Yeah I looked silly doing the Manheim stroll in flip flops, ankle deep in rain water, but after I got done loading, I went back in the cab and put my nice dry sneakers back on, while everyone else had sloshy shoes the rest of the day!!

I have had a compound fracture to my right ankle and cut one my fingertips off.
