How hard is it for an American to be hired as a truck driver in Australia?

    Having driven trucks in the USA and Australia i can give you a comparison keep in mind also that our $ is worth less than the US $ at present the minimum rate per km for a B-Double is 39c per km so an average trip from Sydney to Melbourne would earn you about $340 before tax for single trailer driver its about $335 take 25 % off for the difference in currency and you'll get the US $ equivalent $335 Au = $252 US x 5 days is around $1260 per week compare that with what your currently earning and see if you think you'd be better off.
