That would be cool, like to see a pic of that when you're done with it!

Set it to run continuous and it will lull you right to sleep... Set it to start/stop if you want to wake up every 20 to 30 mins.

I ran reefer OTR for 5 years... Never slept better. Always ran mine on continuous, if it shut off something was wrong and I woke up immediately and could usually get it fixed and running again.

Edit: if my wife wouldnt kill me i would bolt a reefer unit to my bedroom wall.

No problem, take your time. I got to the point of not being in a hurry about anything, cause whenever I got in a hurry, that's when mistakes got made and things got broken!

Ahhhhhh reefer life. Makes for the best sleep ever. For you light sleepers, I don't know. You may need a melatonin to get past the sound and vibration.

Find a company with an APU if you go reefer. They hum together and it's like white noise. I love it. I actually like it so much that I park next to flatbeds with their windows cracked so they can enjoy it too

On a serious note, you get used to it quickly. And a lot of companies have satellite monitoring so the after hours folks will call you if something goes wrong or a stranger tries messing with it. This way you can leave it on start/stop if you find it doesn't bother you kicking on and off

Volcanic eruptions are more quiet than a Tripac apu in direct proximity.

However, the Tripac apu does hold the distinct advantage of not spewing tons of ash and toxic fumes into the atmosphere, creating an unstoppable river of lava that can destroy anything, or a lovely pyroclastic flow that can put on edge even the most hardened EPA regulator.

It takes time to get used to having that reefer popping on and off during your 10-hour break. One night I was parked in a small area behind a small store (with owners OK, asked before I parked) waiting to go unload at Northfield. Had it not been for a need to go water a tree I would not have noticed my reefer had stopped and was throwing codes. I spent most of my 10 getting that reefer working. The mechanic had to finally replace the battery. That trailer was almost new. I guess I am old school when it comes to driving. When I was driving I was never comfortable unless I could hear my rig while on the road or parked. Many of the larger carriers self-underwrite their insurance, a lost load because of a reefer failure can cost upwards of 6 figures.

I am not trying to start a fight or a font war. Right now I am listening to classical music and drinking coffee. Here it is and I am saying this as gently as possible. If you can't handle all the irritations that come with this job in all honesty you need to find another job! Reefer service is just one of many!
