How Hard to get werner "dollar store" account?

Easy all u have 2 b is an inexperienced loudmouth who can't straitline back--O wait that's just the one who was parked next 2 me in Illinois last nite and all but ripped my hood off--they r well known round there at least cause when I called the PD 2 get a report their dispatcher said "Oh great another Werner" and their safety dept didn't even blink-told me to go to any convient Pete dealer and don't worry we have a National Account! Yeah aim higher young man--

 

I graduate form trucking school tomorrow & I would pick up #### off the side of the highway before I would run that account. My instructor said it best. One guy asked about that also & he looked at him & asked if he'd ever been in a Dollar General & if he noticed the average age of the people working there. Around 70 yr old women I suppose. Are they gonna help you unload? You can do aLOT better.

 

The age range of the employees is no different then any other retail store, 18-80. They aren't going to help you unload, cause you get paid to do that, not them. If that's the kind if advice your instructors are giving you regarding jobs, it makes me wonder what kind of driving skills you're being taught.

 

You would be surprised in who and what kind of people you will meet out there.If nothing else you can learn something from everyone

 

There was a driver at the werner terminal who did the dollar general account.He was meeting with safety because he has his 5th incident.that account is driver unload and look at the dollar general lots when your out and see how there is no room for a 53 ft trailer.good luck on the new career

 

Well, I test out here in 4 hours, so I will let you know. My driving skills are just fine thank you. I had some experience coming into school, but most companies wont touch you w/o 1 yr exp, or 160 hr school. Anyway, if thats all a guy can find for a job, then have at it. I got lucky & have a great job lined up
