I used to work for Sysco, and let me tell you the route I do is all heavy, no light days. Is it the same for Liquor? I mean, a beer keg is 160 lbs, but do they expect you to stack 2 kegs and dolly it in the store? Im interviewing with a local liquor company that pays $28/hour union job. So I'm just wondering if it's worth it or not, so far I like the fact that you get weekends off.

I'm also interviewing with Mclane and a local car hauling company. Anyone got any dirt on Mclane? And lastly, is car hauling sustainable as a career (good money?). Thanks.

McLane food service or grocery? Food service is just as heavy if not more than Sysco, depending on your accounts. Grocery side is easier, lighter.

I’m kind of surprised you haven’t run into a beer guy on your route. From what I’ve seen, yes they stack kegs. Also, where I’m at there is a difference between the liquor guys and the beer guys. Beer is usually the full size trailers and sometimes side loaders, liquor is usually just wine and hard liquor in a straight truck or pup trailer.

It's above average. But, I'm just worried about the workload. I'm wondering if I can get paid the same amount of money with a lighter trailer elsewhere. The hiring manager straight up told me that liquor is very, very heavy.

Of the 3 you're looking at, I'd be chasing the car hauling gig.

    you wanna handle beer kegs.>??

what will you do IF you have to either take them up a flight of stairs, or down a flight of stairs..???

not all deliveries will be at ground level.

i got a work out, and tired, just reading a beer keg weights 160 pounds.....
