I got into trucking from my uncle he had a hay farm he delivered his own hay. I remember when I was a kid we would go to his house for Halloween partys and I always admired his Mack day cab and he let me sit in it several times the first time I rode in it is when we were coming home from the Mack dealership for a oil change. one time he let me go with him on a delivery and it was so cool he taught me a lot on the road about trucking and he told me it can be tough sometimes but its worth it ! now he stopped the hay farm and now drives for Landstar. so thanks to him he passed the trucking gene to me.

Are you going to be a hard core long haul trucker?

You are doing pretty good if you have your own truck at 24. I thought Landstar required a minimum of 1 year OTR before you can lease on with them. I could be wrong though.

    Added Content:

Boy I misread your first post. It is your Uncle that leases on to Landstar. I thought you meant you had. I was kind of impressed that at 24 you were able to do that. Sorry for the confusion.

If you have the itch, you have to scratch it... give it a try, you never know, you may love it.
