I'll try to explain the situation and you guys can tell me if I have any thing to worry about ...
Well in 1980s I was charged with 2 felonies and 1 MM---1 Felony for a joint and one Felony for assault with a deadly weapon ..A Car!!! 1-MM petty theft $20 in fuel !
Here's how it happened I was travelling cross county in my car I picked up a hitchhiker and down the road we stopped for fuel He said he would pay He went inside I fueled up He came out we left next thing I know a truck rams into the side of my car ... The police show up the guy says I hit him but the fact is he hit us to stop me because the other guy went inside but didn't pay for the fuel ..Well the also found a joint in my car so 2 felonies .. Now I sit in jail for a week prosecuter drops both Felony charges to MM and they let me go, I paid the fines and moved on, right -- We'll not so much ..
Apparently NCIC has it on record I was charged with these felonies but no info that they were dropped to miserminors or that I was convicted of the felonies either, so 25-30 yrs later when I'm trying to buy a gun NCIC wont give the ok, so I get curious ...when I ask NCIC why they say because they don't know if I convicted or not .. Well I call the county where I was charge and guess what computers where just starting to be used and they have no records that go back that far if they weren't felonies or warrants , they cant give me anything because they don't have anything on record other than the court I was procecuted in, and it doesn't handle felonies pretty much proving I couldn't have be convicted of a felony ..right !! well not so much to NCIC..
NCIC tells me the wont approve or deny me to buy a gun is pretty much where we are in 2014.. Due to lack of computers in the mid 80s I can get any records to prove my side other than no one can prove I have ever been convicted of a felony either ... So I'm at a stalemate .. This was out of Ariz, I'm from Arkansas ..I still can vote I can still own a Gun.. I have many, I just can't get NCIC to approve of a sale which they have 3 days to do or a sale can be made .. Walmart wont without approval.. FYI
So is this going to be an issue if I try to get a hazmat endorsement ?? and if denied is it really that big of a deal ..I plan on teaming with my wife and we paln on going to school this coming June ..
Thanks, I have not been in any trouble with the law in the past 25yrs outside of a speeding ticket .. never a dui,dwi or injury accident ever, I have a spotless driving record for over 5 yrs been on my current job 15 yrs and can piss clean as the day I was born ..
Thanks for all your answers
How important is a Hazmat Endorsement ?

Hazmat is a plus in my opinion, but by no means is it a deal breaker.
You shouldn't have any trouble getting hazmat/TWIC if you decide to pursue the creds... Below are current TWIC guidelines and your well clear of these.
Good luck...

And to be honest with you Trucker Stuff is very exciting to me right now ...I have been planning this for almost 3 yrs now and we are now just months away from living our dream.. I have been reading studying and planning for a long time I'm ready for the adventure to begin.
We will be taking our permit tests very soon.. Then We are off to school in June just waiting for our last to Teens to graduate High School in the Spring ..
We plan on attending Crowder College in Neosho Mo.. Then seeing which companies would like to have us onboard .. We are looking at applying at Conway TL, USX , Old Dominion any other that you folks would recommend would be appreciated ..
We have a 6 yr old Min Pin that will need to travel with us, so it limits us to some companies to start with .. -
You should be alright considering how old those arrests are.
