Lots of work in AB, plenty of job postings it seems like, just left logging for a job pulling a tanker making 20-22k per month.
How is everyone’s company doing right now

Its a new week, now that I've had some time to cool off, things are looking up.
Still 10-12 hours a day, on my 10am-10pm shift, LTL Van. New Daycabs are starting to roll in, I have 2 LCV road tests to do this week, but it should be sunny and nice. We will be at 20 Full Time LCV's running here shortly, which is mind blowing to me. Its slower than I would expect for this time of year, but still steady. It sure is nice, being able to go to the flying J on 114th, and drive up to a pump, anytime, 7 days a week.Another Canadian driver, Magoo1968 and Albertaflatbed Thank this. -
Yeah, sometimes a day or two can get a guy reset back to a more normal mood about work.
Glad things are looking up, great weather for December, especially for LCV tests.

Well since you asked. I got my truck on the road and found a company to run under, got one week work and then nothing. Pulling superB with sand in AB I guess not a good time to get started with Christmas coming. Looked like we had another job but something got pushed as it often does and turned out they won't need us as they can now handle the loads internal. Anyway looking forward to next year hopefully the oil field has a strong push until breakup. Merry Christmas all

Currently doing straight truck tailgate work in the GTA. 8-9 hrs a day. 5 days a week holidays off. $4000 a month cash. Work is steady. Pay, slim in this expensive location.

I run coast to coast primarily. Reefer for company hauling own product out and broker loads back. I have been running 9-1 ratio, meaning 1 day off for every 9 out. Mercy! They keep me running hard. HOWEVER, I do know things are slower overall. Especially backhaul. I think I get way more miles than most drivers at my company because I never turn down a load or say no and will run literally anywhere, all year. So they hit me with loads first cause they know I’ll do it.
Evidence for overall industry slowdown is there however. You see it in different ways.Last edited: Dec 25, 2023

A lot of companies keep decreasing their pay per mile. I wonder if they are even hiring any good drivers because those are same companies that are running damaged equipment down the road. Low pay equals low quality drivers.
