Looking to go OTR. Don't want the constant in town headache. Did that hauling gas and diesel. Not my bag.
They only have regional and dedicated as far as I know. Flatbed is regional. I think they mostly haul lumber and building materials, but steel and salvage as well. They claim you're home every weekend but I don't know if it's an actual weekend or just a 34 reset. You will need 1 year's experience however or they'll make you take a refresher course. I'm sure waiting a few more months is better than being stuck with a trainer again. Starting pay is $0.43/mile. They average 2,100 miles a week according to job postings. Being in MS, you should be able to get hired on at the Tennessee terminals. You'll travel AL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MD, MS, NC, NJ, OH, PA, SC, TN, VA, and WV. All trucks are automatic with APUs.
They aren't hiring there as of right now. Closest to you is the Tennessee terminals. Maybe check in a few months.
I passed by their terminal in Belden, Ms. today and they have a huge banner stretched across an entire 53' trailer stating they are hiring. I would assume they mean for that terminal. I'm going to call them tomorrow and see if I can get any info.
Ah who knows. Their website only shows for Tennessee. I don't think it would make much of a difference. They are both in the same regional zone.
OTR miles vary based on which terminal, they call them Service Centers, you are based at. You will get home almost every weekend unless you want to stay out. Benefits are good. I think OTR pay is 40CPM to start.
