As he said, if you get over 5000 miles in a week, you get more than 600 a week. If you do less than that, you still get 600 a week, as long as you are available for loads for all 7 days.

No one has ever pressured me into a lease. Ive been a company driver for a year now.

When I was ready to upgrade from trainee to solo there was only one question from my fleet manager.

"Are you going lease or are you going company ... I need to put you in the right upgrade class?"

No "why" or "why not"... no speech, no extra "pitch"... We attended the same upgrade classes as the lease guys, but we didnt have to attend any classs that pertained to leasing.

When it came time to get my truck... all trucks are issued by the lease company office. Same question "Lease or Company?" They handed a key to each COMPANY DRIVER and a checkout sheet and told us to comb over it. The LEASE DRIVERS got a list of available trucks to lease that they could choose from and could check out any key to a truck that caught their eye.

See a diffrence here. No choice for company... Some company guys got brand new Cascadias, some got a trucks a little older like the Century, and one guy got a Pete. I was, and still am very satisfied with my Century (mine was under a year old)... It runs great, it was clean, and it gets excellent fuel milage.

Honestly, you get more questions from other Prime drivers on why or why not when it comes to the lease question.
