How is Sprint working out for you?

Verizon all the way.My last trip chicago,il=>kansas city,mo=>atlanta,ga=>nashville,tn=>porterville,ca=>los angeles,ca=>cleveland,oh=>chicago,il....had signal and internet 90% of time

 

I am sure you guys are trying to do more than I do on my phone,but i am able to use sprint hot spot and scan from truck pretty much anywhere. I have never had a problem with metering etc on phone,watch music vids all the etc. Maybe cuz i still have crappy old evo.

 

I started out with Sprint and moved to Verizon. They all work on the interstate system and metropolitan areas. It's when you get out in them remote areas off the interstate that makes a difference and Verizon covers more of them. If you ever get the pleasure of going to Chariten, IA you not only won't have cell service, you lose Qualcomm/PeopleNet about 30 miles away. You won't find a payphone either.

 

I have Sprint and have had it for 12 years now if that tells you anything. I drive lower 48, most of the time I stay east of I-35, a few times a year (10 or less) I will cruise out to Utah, Arizona, Colorado, or Washington. When I get out that away starting in Nebraska on 80 (out in the more remote areas) I lose service and Wyoming (Cheyenne, Laramie, Rock Springs and Evanston are Okay) as well BUT alot of the time my phone will roam so I have service. However, sometimes the phone will not find a tower to roam on and then I dont have service. Now with my plan "Simply everything" (I think is what they call it) I get everything so when I roam on someone else's network it doesnt cost me anything. I can talk for 40, 50, or even 200 hours on roaming and not get charged. Now I have been in some big cities before and had some issues before with not having service, but my opinion is that is a localized issue and will get fixed.

I also use their wireless aircard, although I dont know what it cost me. The wireless aircard pretty much works in same areas the phone does and roams in the same manner. However, I have been in some areas where I will have service on my aircard but will NOT HAVE ANY service on the phone. And that happens more often than not. I get unlimited usage but, I think Sprint, just like all other carriers are starting to cap usage at 6gb per month. Now the roaming side of the air card I get capped on my usage each month and I think that is 4 or 5 gb per month. My father rides with me and he uses the computer ALOT, pretty much all day. When we get out west it doesnt take long to reach the roaming cap with him on Facebook and Myspace and browsing the internet all day. So if you run out lets say west of I 35 and you have someone riding with you you can burn up that usage pretty quick. But on the otherhand if you are by yourself and you are going to use it a little bit each night you might be alright.

With 2 phones and an aircard the bill is right around $320 per month.

As a side note becasue Spint's World Headquarters is in Overland Park, KS., that is one state that has very good Sprint coverage that is west of I-35. I dont travel out in Kansas alot but I have had some pretty good service out there.

 

I had my phone service with Sprint for over 13 years. For the most part, service was pretty good across the country. I switched to Verizon prepaid so that I could cut my bill in half. Verizon coverage has not been as good for me as it was with Sprint. My wife switched to Boost prepaid (owned by Sprint) and her service has been pretty decent as well. She hasn't been out of our home area, so I have no idea about the national coverage, but was informed that they use the same towers as Sprint. I still have a Sprint air card for my computer. I have had issues with their air cards, but the coverage has been pretty good across the country. Regardless of which one you go with, you need to update the device when you are out of your home area. It helps to find new towers and may improve your coverage. I had much better coverage in Oklahaoma with Sprint than I currently have with my Verizon prepaid. The prepaid Verizon doesn't roam unless you pay extra. They charge by the minute to roam. Paying for roaming defeats the purpose of prepaid. Both my wife and I have cut our cell phone bills in half by prepaying and buying our phones. I think that I paid $79 for mine and $99 for my wife's phones. I got that back in about 1 1/2 months of savings on the bill.

 

I've had Sprint since I started driiving in 2003.They're alright.I don't have all that fancy stuff you have,just the basic.My contract has expired but keeping them for now untill I find better.Only real thing I don't like about Sprint is they're not open on Sundays and finding a store with a big trk isn't that easy.

 

Think maybe I could get you to check by the house and show me how to use my II ? Seems to be a POS battery gobbler to me.

Sprints roaming does charge. If you're roaming it charges your anytime minutes. If you go over u pay$$$. Even on an unlimited plan they charge for talking while roamin . You are misinformed.

 

I was not misinformed, I have had Sprint for 12 years I know what my bills look like, and I know what I am charged for. I am in NO CIRCUMSTANCES CHARGED FOR ROAMING. I dont know if I got some special type of deal or not but again I AM NOT CHARGED FOR ROAMING!

 

You won't be charged unless you go over the allowed amount of minutes. Call them and ask them yourself.
