Landstar has approved facilities for the 120 day inspections. Pretty much and T/A or Petro and misc places here and there. When your done processing they will tell you where the closest place is to get a inspection. You pay for the initial inspection and Landstar pays after that.

If you guys are inclined to run the AA&E fleet...They get a good bit of freight out of Florida.

Orientation is done at St. Augustine, FL

Does Landstar pays oversize permits and tolls?

No. You're responsible for tolls, permits, and all over-dimensional costs in rate negotiations. AA&E is Arms, Ammunition, and Explosives.

For those of you that do OD loads, I have been curious about this. When you call to get the permit does that State route you or do you tell the State the route that your wanting and they check to make sure it all jives and they do it that way? Just been wondering about that since I'm a company guy and I just tell the permit Dept. where to fax them to.

How is LTL loads with Landstar for a stepdeck? For example if I have a full load on lower deck, can I add something going same direction on the upper deck?

Unless the customer specifies exclusive use.

Finally getting pre qualified! What an ordeal it was (not from the Landstar side). My husband went to get his physical. right before walking in the clinic had a heated conversation with our employer/friend about deducting money for insurance (which we no longer using) from our last pay check. Off course his BP went through the roof. The doc give him a clearance for 3 months. After a week monitoring his BP we went for re exam. They refused to see him because he was not on BP pills (BP was normal all week). OK, we went to another doctor and got 2 years med card.
Meanwhile USPS had lost our trailer plate and registration (took 3 weeks to find it).
Two days after physical exam we went for HM test. My husband fell vision test because hi did not lined up his head right with that thing that used to check eyes and did not see one line. Officer was quick to pronounce him blind on one eye. We pass HM test, went to the eye doctor, find out that vision is fine.
There was a letter in the mail box stating that my husband"s licence will be suspended because he fell to complete basic driver improvement school for a ticket he got in SC over a year ago. He had completed the class about a month ago, took the certification to DMV, but apparently girl who took in newer put in in the system.
For the last month our live was like a very sad country song. I hope it will turn into bluegrass motive from now!

You can usually request a certain route in most states. If there is a problem, they may change your route. Most states will route you if you don't specify a route. Each state is different. If you have an annual permit, you always route yourself, but should be aware of any restrictions.

    milskired Thanks this.
