Yea and every job I've ever had that was paid on w2 I got nearly everything i paid in back in April. You want to be a crook about it you can either way I figure, 1099s are better than cash under the table at least.

That's like saying selling pot is ok cause at its better than selling crack and heroin.

Sure ok then. Why do you want the government involved in every little aspect of your life? I'd rather nobody's taxes get withheld and you pay about a half a percent on your total earnings for the year, no deductions, no returns, you keep a half a penny of each dollar back for taxes in fact that may actually be a little much. I realize this will never happen because it'd actually make things a little easier for everybody and is the exact opposite of the government's goals.

Some of you guys clearly have too much time on you’re hands. Maybe mind you’re own business and who cares how another drive is being paid or what they are reporting.

Great answer and sounds much like my story from a past life. Different game and same rules. I violated the holy Grail of rules. It has been said "You can't fight city hall" I did just that. And I won. The cost was so high that it cost me everything I had except my life and freedom. Attorneys made all the money. The police officer was fired, turned security guard, and beat his wife until he was incarcerated for brandishing a weapon under disability. I have put all that behind me only to be vindicated and then watch my mother and father both subcum to stroke. I spent the following seven years caring for them in their own home, our family home, and I am happy to say that they never saw the inside of a nursing home. The real kick to the groin came after my brother-in-law hired high power attorneys because he thought my sister didn't get enough of the estate. My younger brother was not around to help either. I was too tired to fight more attorneys and walked away from the entire estate. If you believe in the after life my sister and her husband along with my brother will be residing in hell. They already are as a matter of fact. Taking the high road is tough. Maintaining one's integrity and reputation is not without cost. I have paid dearly for standing my ground. I have been rewarded with three awesome kids and a son-in-law and a grandson. All my kids are on their own and flying. They are all better off finance wise and I have no doubt that they will continue to thrive. I am in a good position to travel and begin a new path and see the rest of the lower 48 and Canada and Mexico. And this time I will be getting paid to do it instead of the other way around. Life is a crazy and wonderful ride. When the wind blows you gotta bend like a young sapling, otherwise you will break like a dried out Willow. I have learned to live, love, and laugh with a whole lot less. I love this country. I am happy with our current president. He is a refreshing change since Ronny Regan. He is making America great again.

I have a question: What if you hauled a load of corn feed for your neighbor and as return favor he installed a swimming pool for you you ? No money changed hands. He got what he wanted and you got what you wanted. And because you liked great job he did putting in the pool you decide to invite him and his family over for a barbeque cookout. What tax form does that go onto. ???

In today's world and economy you have to be able to do many things. Unless you are a kid fresh out of college and doing what the employer expects you will not survive and get ahead. Even my own children fresh from college have changed jobs several times each. The whole job market is very different from what it used to be. It is almost unheard of for a person to stay with a single company longer than a few years. Unless you own your own company or business staying in one company is a rare occurrence.

I have a freind that received a check for $20,000 from the city police department and a letter of apology. The letter of apology was what he really wanted. So yes you can fight city hall and if ... IF ... IF the truth and the law is on your side you can win.
