    Hello everybody,

I’m a German student and I’m going to make a survey about drive concepts of class 8 trucks and bigger ones (e.g. class 9, does class 10 exist?) in the US and Canada.
It is quiet a challenge for me to find out more about the topic because there are no data published by the truck manufacturers. Therefore I decided to ask the people who really know about their trucks, you. There are several things which are important to me and it would be very nice if you could help me with those.
    I’m interested in things like:

    - Which truck do you drive? Name, Company, weight, class
    - How many axles has your truck (only the tractor)?
    - Which axles are driven?
    - Are you able to switch one axle off, so that only one axle is driven?
o Why and when do you switch it off?
    - If you have a tandem axle and only one is driven, which one is driven?
    - Are you able to lift one axle up?
o Why and when do you do that?
    - Do you have a power divider to control the acting torque on the driven axle?
    - Is the King Pin closer to the first or the second rear axle? (only tandem axle)
    - Are you able to adjust the position of the King Pin?
o Why do you change the position of the King Pin?

It would be very nice if you could answer the questions. I hope that a lot of people are going to help me because I need quiet a lot of opinions to make a representative statement.

Thank you very much for your time and assistance in advance!!!

    Best regards
    Peter
