So I shut it down at the brake check on Hwy 16 / BC - about 13km east of Topley BC.
Been here about 45min and every truck that's stopped here, the driver gets out walks down left side -without so much as feeling for a hot tire or hub - then around the back to the right side and decides to mark his spot on the asphalt less than ten yds from a bathroom that is looked after so its usually fairly clean.
Flipping ridiculous !!
I guess these own seat warmers that pilot these trucks down the road don't really care that an actual professional driver WILL PROPERLY INSPECT their brakes / hubs etc and will have to deal with their puddle of urine .
Started taking pictures of these children along with the company name and going to spend my time at my offload sending some morning wake ups to a few safety coordinators.
Really guys its pathetic ....I understand if there isn't a facility provided at the pullout ya pick - do whatcha gotta do...
At least step off the asphalt and don't be such a PIG !
How lazy and disgusting can you be...?

A lot easier to check the brakes when the truck is upside down in the ditch
Should be about a $750 fine for urinating in public when perfectly fine urinal is right there. Cop hide somewhere just rake it in all day. That I have no problem with. Don't be a dumb dumb.HELLBENTDENT, Canadianhauler21, x1Heavy and 1 other person Thank this. -
I very rarely touch my hubs, not in the winter anyway. I normally walk around and check my lights. I can smell when my brakes are having issues if that makes sense. Warm ceramic and metal has a certain smell to it.
In the summer I either use a laser temp gauge thinga mabobber, or touch the hubs.
I gotta say I will take a leak beside my truck, only because the brake checks I frequent are busy ones. That don't get looked after. The last one I went into was field. There was a tower of excrement from the hole almost all the way to the seat. Only a few inches off maybe, and the entire bowl was covered in frozen piss.
Ya no I'm good thanks, I'll crap in a truckstop and piss where I can TYVMHELLBENTDENT, Canadianhauler21 and x1Heavy Thank this. -
I know my brakes and have had burned brakes, hot brakes, cooking brakes and no brakes and all of that. The wheels and hubs know also if there is a problem. So does the drums.
Now the elimination of body waste is enough of a problem creating a situation that I am pretty unwilling to get down into that mess on the pavement. Balancing infection, sickness and god only knows what else against a brake problem is a no brainer to me. Im not getting under there.
What will stop this will be when truck builders add 5 feet to the back of the sleepers and build a urinal into a corner. That can go right into the emissions reserve tray. It's going to be pretty close in the same chemical family anyway. -
We spent 3 weeks touring BC by RV. And it was the norm to pass people on the side of the road. With their junk hanging out, facing traffic, taking a piss.
But I take from this thread. This isn’t normal for Canadians? -
Just another example of our culture changing. For the worse. Lots would argue it's for the better. Guess I'm wrong in my way of thinking.

Unfortunately, I see this all the time at Truck stops. Drivers too lazy to walk in to the restrooms. I get it if it's an emergency, but I don't believe that to be the case most times. And some drivers wonder why we have such bad reputations. And then there are those who use the restrooms and throw their used TP on the floor.

It's just dogs marking their spot ... woof!

It’s one thing to take a leak in the grass or bushes but keep it off the #### asphalt, especially in the summer!
