How long are you on the road for???

    You should clarify what it is you are talking about, is it a lease purchase thru a carrier or an individual with a truck leasing his equipment onto a carrier? Big difference between the two, but from your statement I am lead to believe that both are just "wannabe" owner operators. Funny thing is, I see more of these "wannabe's" driving around in equipment that actually looks like it will pass a DOT inspection, and these real owner operators driving around trucks that look like they belong in a container yard.

    What's the point of this? I know company drivers that have houses worth 150,000 plus, paid for.

    No you can not. Some have a free search feature but you get very limited information and you can not get a true grasp on freight lanes. You have to have your own authority to buy a subscription

    I agree. Id even say it is not much different than someone getting their own authority and starting a business. The difference is there is no way to gauge or study one of the most important pieces of data to your new trucking company.... Freight lanes and rates..... I can learn about truck and trailer purchases, fuel costs, and all the paperwork needed but no prior access to see how much I can possibly bring in... That part is truly On The Job Training..
