how long after you fill out full app did some one call u? or after the first recruiter call? or how long till they offered a job?

and how many of you requested that your job was a for sure thing

ie all the background checks etc as i have no intentions of going to a place and have something pop up at orientation that they decide they dont like. is this even an option? i know they cant guarantee employment on other factors such as driving ability test, phys, load securement test, or drug test till you get there. have read about people that get to orientation only to be told that something else keeps them from getting hired on.

Most ppl that get there and don't get hired. They are hiding stuff that's why. Don't worry if your not hiding nothing.

How long ago did you fill out an application? They will see your application, then call you within a day or two. They'll have additional questions.Want you to sign and fax a DAC and MVR release form. Then within a couple more days if they're interested they will call you.If not, don't ecspect to get a call back.If you feel there is something on your dac or mvr that the recruiter should know then by all means tell her. Some companies wait till you get to orientation to look everything up.Why they do that I don't know.I figured they would save money on transportation by looking up all the dirt before hand.Just ask your recruiters if companies look things up during orientation.

I agree. With Knight, they get your app, call you, bring you in for 1 1/2 day orientation and then OOPS, sorry we can't hire you because you can't prove that you were your own business, or accidents, or criminal records. They just spent money on your drug screen and physical. This is the process now. When I hired on back in 2009, it was a week long orientation with all the usual goings on.

I applied to Walmart back in February. They called me for my first interview in April. After passing the three part interview, they took about a week for some back round MVR checking and called me back for the second interview. That part was the drug screen and physical and another back round MVR check. I now know that I will be starting on the 28th of this month so Walmart will take the time to make sure everything checks out before offering the postion. Just my experience.

the only issue i have a concern with is my DAC as i was with arrow back in 06 and had to quit for personal reasons driver manager was ok with it when i left but you never know. i have ordered one from hireright waiting on it to get here to see what arrow put on it and contest any bad things that may be on there

only other possible issue is me letting my medical go and hence forth my cdl as at the time i didnt think i would get back into truck driving

The biggest reason that people get sent home is due to "filing a false application"; i.e., they tried to hide something.

Trucking companies are going to verify EVERYTHING that you write down, and if anything else significant pops up, they figure that you can't be trusted.

Say you got busted for possession ten years ago. If you disclose that, and everything else points to you being clean ever since, they will probably overlook that. And if they can't overlook it, isn't it better to find that out before you quit your current job and then have to buy your own bus ticket back home?

Yes, it's possible to disclose more than is needed. I listed Vicodin on my medical form when I was at orientation at Prime. Even though I only took it for a week two months earlier, I had to come home and see my doctor to satisfy the Prime doctor that I didn't need it. The end result was sitting at home for two weeks.

I saw the list of medications that my doctor's office sent to Prime. The Vicodin was listed, even though it should not have been. Had I not listed it, I could have been disqualified. Maybe I could have been able to come back, but it would have been a LOT harder.

I knew when I was getting on the bus leaving orientation that I would be back; the only question was when.

Just be up front ,honest and you will be fine. Don't be afraid to make a follow-up call after applying.

Wasn't there some type of suit against hireright for...something? False records or incorrect information being given or something like that?
