can't remember exactley as it has been a day or two. but it was less than an hour and i have kind of taught myself along the way. i have gone thru two log changes and looks like i might go thru another. i don't understand why they don't have the mentality to just leave it alone. i always heard, if it isn't broke don't fix it.
How long did you spend on logs in School/Training for your CDL?

i went to jb's school back in 90,they had a lot of log classes but stuck out in my mind, they gave us and atlas and a town, and said log it to and from therewithin a certain time, breaks and all, as far as any of kmow we all passed it,we had a recap the next day, they said we all did good, but the hos were a little differant then, thats my 2 cents worth, seeya.

Although i went to a privately ran school--we spent quite a bit on logs with movies/overhead projectors. Before we could even graduate--we had to do a log project in which totaled to like 3,000+ miles and it was sent into the State DOT to be graded. If you didnt pass this and it came back as a fail--you didnt get passed until it was right! I thought this was normal but i guess its just something that school did. Evidently, there was only a pass/fail--no partials to it. If you missed one thing--u missed it all.

That's great, all drivers should be treated that way and when regulations change there should be a test and the DOT should have to grade it/pass you to get your CDL I feel.

Not sure that it really matters but i went to a privately ran school -- not a company sponsored school. I am not sure that it makes a difference but they still made us do that "project". It took a few days to do it too--a lot of thought process went into cuz i surely didnt wanna take it over!

Well it's G-R-E-A-T they made you do that "LOG" project
I "hope" you are a better logger for that however I had many drivers doing it wrong after their school training, so please check in with your log audior ).

They didn't teach you that, did they? -
When I went out with my trainer, he said, forget everything the school taught on the logs. This is the way we do it.
