Since they changed the hours of service in 2005, I'm not sure how those guys are making any money nowadays.
I used to get to my first drop and sit for 5 hours to split my sleeper break before completing my other drops.
In 2005 my friend kept running out of hours due to not being able to split the sleeper break. He lost 2/5 days work per week due to the new hours of service. Hopefully Werner has restructured things to improve productivity within the new hours of service.Last edited: Jan 17, 2017

First driving job was flatbed with McElroy. Was there six months. Had no real complaints with MTL. Good training, good equipment, decent money. I just wanted to pull tankers. Been at Tidewater Transit, running out of their Decatur, AL terminal since August '13. Like the equipment, better money, better home time, and can't imagine a better terminal manager. He's been a driver and mechanic, so he knows what we deal with out here. Makes a big difference.
SidewaysBentHalo Thanks this. -
I was with Central Refrigerated for just six months and then did a local beverage delivery job back home.
