How long did you stick with your First Company?

Decided to go OTR in 1982 and hired on with CR England. Stayed with them until 1991. I left them to go work for a family member for the next 10 years. I am now on my third company in 28 years.

 

I was with Werner for 3 months....got tired of sitting around waiting for them to tell me to come back to the yard. When I had hours to run they wouldn't run me when I barely had enough they expected miracles....and I was on a dedicated Walmart account.

 

If you're happy, as long as possible, if you're not happy, as short as possible...

Many look at the first one to get experience and the 2nd one to make money...

Like a marriage, first for love, 2nd for money!

 

I lasted until the time came that I refused a load that would have exceeded my HOS.

 

I started driving a class 8 truck for SNI on May 9th 2008 and have been looking for anything better since I had completed my first year. I don't just leap to anything..LOL When SNI no longer benefits me than I will find a company that does and hence is why I continue to research.

I lasted three months,-just enough to get where I am now....We put in PROBABLY 120 hrs a wk the way the system was set up,and thankfully,they have since gone out of business....

 

16 years first semi driving job, left for greener pastures, got layed off, moved on, called back to 2nd job and here I am.
XLS no sense bumping this to the top, its hardly an hour old

 

2 days..... the owner shot himself. No, he went hunting, came to a page wire fence and reached his rifle across in the process of climbing over. Never have a round in the breech and hold your rifle by the barrel.
