He says he's signing on with Mercer and they won't take a mechanical because of mandatory E-logs. The bad news is it's 15 direct driving 4:11 rears. There's a $15K CDN expense to swap that stuff out....and no air assist hood.
How long do we have to order a glider

Ouch! Lol.
Ya 22.5's with 4.11's would be pushing it. Did he put that truck together or just spruce it up? I dont think theres a roght answer to the glider question. A co worker bought a Coronado glider in late 2012. Aa far as i could tell he had around 100 in it before taxes when it hit the road. It was a powered glider so it came with a Reman Detroit. It came with a 3 year engine warranty. This was from metro freightliner. The concensus was that it was a 3 year engine. The head gasket just went out on it. I dont think i could justify paying over 100 g on a glider out the door.rank Thanks this. -
I have driven 3 new trucks....all Kenworths. A '95, a '01 and a '08 and I can tell you there ain't a spit worth of difference between them and a good used one. Period.

Hush now! Don't tell my factory remanned Detroit 12.7 in my glider! Just turned over 449,000 on it and runs great. Uses about 2 qts of oil in 25,000 miles and has a lifetime mpg of 7.84. Now, I have heard of folks having problems with something like a 3rd party rebuilt or reman engines, but I haven't hear of too many problems with Detroit factory remans. I am sure there is one or two out there that have had a problem, just because the world is not perfect.
