When I was younger I slept at 6ft.
    As I've aged it's more like 5'10"

Owner Operators don’t sleep they snooze . Because the slightest change in how the truck idles startles them out of a slumber . Can confirm was an owner operator for 13 years

Ha ha . One shift in RPM and you’re in the cab scanning gauges . If the oil pressures five pounds off you’re flipping the work light on and grabbing your wrenches even if it’s five degrees and you’re in your boxers . If you feel the wind shift you’re coming out with your hammer cus someone just hit your hood . That’s why they all got the glassy stare

5.5-6 for me. Just can't sleep longer than that. Once I'm up, I'm up. The second I'm coherent, I'm planning my route, checking news and weather, checking king Google maps for the customer, ect.

I try to stay around 6-7, for the same reasons mentioned previously. Any less than 5 and I am tired all day, too much more than 7 then I stay up well into my 10 and the following day is rough.
