Normally do 2.5 to 3 weeks than I’ll do 3 to 5 days off. Depends on if I have business to do home.

I used to do only local work when my kids were little. Once they were grown, I'd stay out for the most part M-F...maybe get home once in between.
I got tired of sleeping in a truck. It's so hard sometimes to find a spot. I like driving late, so, that makes it a lot harder.
I switched to local work about 18 mos ago and been doing fine. Rates are good, so, that helps.
But, if you want to make the best $, you have to be willing to go at least 2 or 3 nights out...ideally a week, maybe even 2.
It all depends on the lifestyle you want...and where you live.BigDog Trucker Thanks this. -

9-10 months a year. Usually take sometime in Jan to early march off. Such is tour life. Get home now and again if the show runs thru home or if I have a few weeks between assignments.
