i have a DD15 and want to know what’s the warm up period before driving it.
I usually do 15 min but I guessing I need half and hour before I start driving.
Anyone know?
And I have read on here normal oil pressure is around 13-15 is it correct?
How long do you warm up your rig before driving.

Oil at 30+ PSI, Engine stable at 1200 (First 5 minutes dead idle for turbo protecting and feeding) airride up and inflated all around, particularly the trailer. Water temperature 185 to 200. Oil temperature up to 160 and stable Pyrometer running 700 or so. Restriction less than 7, ideally 3.
The truck will have arthritis for about 10 miles, no jacobs braking until axles and transmission oil agrees with engine oil more or less.
This is my personal framework, not necessarily for your particular engine. -
I start out slow and ease up to speed. Idle out of the truck stop, gently proceed down the frontage rd, left turn onto the highway on ramp and then get on it.

I warm it up all night long. Idk my mpg isnt that greatest tho.

Please ignore that guy. And I don't mean @Allow Me nor @Snakeschasingcars . Basically there is no reason to warm up any vehicle that much. Start your engine, do your pti, then go. Drive easy until your coolant temperature gets off the peg. Any more than that is a waste of fuel.

They say lots of things, but that engine isn't real quick to warm up idling. It depends on outside temp, when it was last run, whether it's plugged in, etc.
When the temp guage starts to move it's OK to start moving from my experience, and once it starts working a little, the warming up is faster.flood, laaylor, Truckermania and 4 others Thank this. -
Start it do your pre trip/paper work and go. The newer engines warm up pretty quick

I usually only warm until the oil pressure starts to drop from peak. I have a Data Star, so I can see when oil temp comes up off the bottom of the sensor (74 deg.) and that's normally where the pressure starts to drop to normal levels. Then just take it easy until you've got water temp up.
If I'm parked somewhere that's going to require heavy throttle due to geography, I'll let it warm a bit more so I can have more than 150 degrees of water temp before I need to mash on it.
