How long do you warm up your rig before driving.

    For me, no movement till water temp hits 160° degrees empty, or 180° loaded. Then drive really easy for awhile. Shutdown at 300° pyro temp and lower. However long it takes, is how long I wait.

    It will be different for every application. Newer commonrail engines start much easier and minimal warm up is needed. In fact operating temp will be achieved much quicker loaded. Obviously ambient temps below freezing will take longer. Listen to the truck, it will tell you if it's too soon.
