Legally since 76, it was called a chauffeurs license in NM then. Pulled just about anything a guy can think of, except bedbugging. lol I never worked for a large carrier at all, and probably 75% was my own. It has been a fine ride, but I expect it will be over with just another year or so.
how long has everyone been driving here?

Besides, crime in that country is so HIGH... no matter where one lives.. rural areas, cities... the whole country is a lawless land... very dangerous and very unsafe...
But indeed I may go there sometime between September and December.. my dad is seriously ill.... and I am feeling an urge to be with him before he goes forever...
May spend several months there and take care of other things as well.... May have to separate from my company due to the long time that I will be away.. But they said they want me back whenever I come back...
Hey.. all the best luck with your future plans....magoo68, Crude Truckin', MACK E-6 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Well Rocks,I would hate to see you leave, it seems like you are happy doing what you do.
I do understand, you only get one dad though, and he is pretty important.
If you do go for an extended time, they have internet, so be sure and keep in touch, heck you can send pics of them brazillian girls on the beaches us boys always dreamed about. lol
I didn't realize crime was so bad there, when you go, be careful and don't be running around acting like a big bad truck driver.Crude Truckin', Rocks, MACK E-6 and 2 others Thank this. -

Yep I know, that is why I said it. lol
I have not met her, but she has said she is fairly timid.Rocks and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
My dad... he is the one and only family I have left.... I don't have brothers or sisters or children...my mom died in 2007.... and my dad is going to be 90 yrs old in February... if he lives till then....
So many times I have gone to Brazil and always stayed in touch with the TTR....and posted lots and lots of pictures.... which have been "buried" hundreds and hundreds of pages ago somewhere in the "Where Are You Again" thread....
"Big bad truck driver...."When I go there, they ask me what I do for a living... but when I tell them I am a truck driver... they look like they don't believe it...
I look more like a kindergarten teacher....or a librarian.... One time a truck driver told me he thought I was a nun....
MACK E-6 Thanks this. -
A NUN! did you tell him you had a bikini. lol
I remember the flying nun, I guess there could be something like a trucking nun, hmm that would be a stretch though.Rocks Thanks this. -
Almost 3 years tanker, home almost daily. Maybe out 3x a month
1.5 years ready mix
Just started dump trucking/flatbed/operating at a small paving company.
I learned I prefer construction over typical “trucking” I really don’t care for driving tbh if it’s over half an hour at a time, I’d rather be out in the sun.Rocks, authentic251 and Crude Truckin' Thank this. -
14 years driving "big" trucks (10 pulling a super b), and a few before that with 1 and 5 tonnes and trailers.
Never done otr, don't care to either. But I give you guys and ladies that do, A LOT of credit. Maybe when my young kids are grown and on their own and I can do it leisurely with my wife? Who knows. Always been a regional same ol' guyRocks and Crude Truckin' Thank this. -
