In my early 20’s I’d go through 5-6 jobs a year, I’ve worked places for 2 days, I guess all that moving around got old and I found something that works for me, for the most part, I would like to see a bit more pay but for the past many years it’s worked.

I'm nearing 6 years with my current company and I haven’t looked back. To me, it's as close to perfect as it gets. It fits me well. Good equipment, running lanes, miles, a steady paycheck. They're honest, no nonsense, no frills. Just drive. I love that they're straight shooters, and some drivers do get their feelings hurt. They have their way of doing business and they don't apologize for it. Just my style. I like the culture. Nice folks, but they don't play around.

I have been with my company since 98, has never asked me to cut any corners, his wife introduced me to my wife. We have butted heads from time to time, but there is always an underlying respect both ways

I was working at a golf club when I started out with him. Was looking for something for the winter time and started driving snowplow for him. Stayed at the golf club two more years, until it was clear I could not qualify for my b class instructor card( couldn’t put three low rounds together). Had to follow the money, current boss had been trying to get me on for the summer as well. Haven’t looked back. Mortgage almost paid off, two kids on the honor roll, it’s just now my body is falling apart. When I started working towards my cdl, I let him know, felt sneaky otherwise, he said to me “if you go into that business, I will go into it with you, we have always made money together “

OD just finished building a massive operation in Wildwood FL right at the split of the turnpike and 75, pretty impressive @Gomer1969 i really need to turn my focus towards a career in linehaul, somewhere that I can actually look at retirement realistically.
