I got this bar when my original broke. Didn’t have it even a year and it broke like this. Talk about just about hurting myself badly…
No warning, just BANG!
I tell my boys, always keep your feet under you, and your head clear off everything when you’re winching down. Saved my bacon, because I ended up on my hands and knees.
How long have you had your winch bar?

After breaking the el cheapo bar, and welding my original bar once, I did this. It held for a little over a year until it started cracking above the welds.
I gave up at that point and bought an Ergo bar. A little over two years on it at this point.CAXPT, cke and Diesel Dave Thank this. -
Just not made like they used to be.

Definitely never take things for granted.cke Thanks this. -
My old one is 25 years old and my new one is 20. The 20 year old one has the end for the snaps but I got rid of them and only carry 2 now. I use ratchets and finally swapped them out for the folding handle ratchets, rack enclosure is so much neater now.

That guy's been cracked for a bit before it let go.

Not a winch bar, but I welded my pry/binder bar out of 2inch schedule 80 pipe back in 1978. 41 inches long. The bar is now retired just like me
