How long is the Detroit One-Box supposed to last?

Where is this dealer located? The price is ok

 

It is from 2020 so of course price was good back then..

 

I got 1 3 million miles on my one box I've replaced everything on the emmitions ghg14 both wiring harness ACM pump Metering valve, doser injector doser block, pump, but one box is fine. I think this is changed too often when that's not the problem. Had a mechanic at 750,000 miles tell me I needed a new one box did my own research and work that was 500,000 miles ago lol. Seems to be to many part changers and not enough mechanics any more

 

At the dealer today as it won’t regen due to low temp. When they opened it up to replace the DPF filters they realized one of my DOC filters has slid backwards and apparently is allowing fuel to bypass which won’t let it ignite properly to bring the temp up to perform a regen.

jfc the DOC is a little ceramic majic waffer held inside a rolled steel tube. "not serviceable" lmmfao. they cut out sensor threads and weld in new inserts all day

there's no such thing as "not serviceable", they say "not serviceable" so you won't try to "service" it . 18 thousand gd us dollars to stay on the road gtf out

 

I told them to put the old filters back in and do a forced regen. I’m not paying 18k for a #### one box, I’m hoping I can find a better solution.

 

pushed DOC from inlet pressure is like #2 most common failure of 1-box, there are LOTs of better solutions than full out replacement. i've heard of DOCs being mechanically pressed back into place, see below

 

Dinex is a replacement brand. New $6,500- $8,500,
I see estimates of 6-8 hours labor.

I’ve been talking with a shop over in VA that speacializes in DPF systems, super helpful on the phone. They said they may can push it back but it’s a tricky not to break the DOC, gonna try to get by there on Monday and see if they can help.
