oil samples will tell you how long to go

First off an oil change is the cheapest overhaul you will not need. A series 60 uses the oil as a coolant more than most engines do.
You will notice that the oil level does not come down for a while after you change the oil, unless of course you have leaks. When it starts using oil that is the half life of your oil and change it before double that time.
Maintenance is cheap, repairs is where you really pay. Grease, oil, and filters, trying to get every last minute and saying you are saving, no, you are killing the longevity of your truck.123456 Thanks this. -
I guess if it runs fine and you don't mind doing it every 15k stay with it. The last truck I was driving got oil changed every 15k but probably coulda used it every 10k cause it was so whipped

Every 10,000..............but I are not OTR.

Cummins book says 15L engines can go up to 20-25k on reg.oil.
I used to do 15k, now go to 20k. -
10k-15k here depending on application. Maybe if it leaked a lot and you added oil every few days you could get by with longer intervals!
-
Try to keep mine around 11 to 14k
I wig out when it hits 15k -
Never let mine get pass 12k.

I run regional also, but do have idle time in there. My company changes mine every 300 hrs or 15K miles whichever comes first. Usually every 2 ro 3 months.
