I cringe with this type of story... Because it's a 'SWIFT' driver... I pull for Central and they got bought out by Swift... Don't want to get painted with the same brush!

I also had an incident over a year ago with a Swift driver... Along the same lines... However he was BIG, TALL and loudly verbally aggressive... Not only at the pumps, but also in the store while I was getting coffee and my husband was waiting in the truck to pull up to fuel... All I had done was to ask him to pull up, since he was done, so we could fuel. Needless to say I was a bit shaken afterwards, and didn't tell my husband about it until we left, since he would NOT have put up with that, and I didn't want to have to bail him out of an AZ jail :) Called Swift and heard nothing from them... So if anything was done ?? who knows...

However... The story is more about the PERSON, than the company he/she drives for. There have also been many friendly and helpful Swift drivers too!

I've usually been driving so long that when I get to the pump, I gotta pee first. Sorry. I still get out within 10-15, topped off with clean windows. May not be the most polite order of business but do you really want to see me doing the pee pee dance while pumping fuel? Lol!

I generally fuel at the independent or mom n pop truckstops only.....(No Lines, Very few trucks fueling)

Its extremely irritating pulling into a mega "Travelcenter" and waiting 30 minutes just to fuel...........

I sometimes have to do that - go in to the restroom before I can even think about fueling.
Sometimes it is just that bad.

I forgive you, and I hope others will forgive me.

But I try to never stay in a fuel lane - in the island or in the pay lane - any longer than 10 minutes in either.
But, sometimes 10 minutes in each.

Doesn't seem polite any other way.
If I need to stop more than 10 minutes after fueling I'll park it in a real space.
At least, that's what I've been able to do so far.

It does seem, more and more often, that people are using the fuel lane as a 30 minute break spot.
Maybe they need to plan their trip a bit better?
    Like a Walmart? Maybe?

    LaBubba and frankgh Thank this.

I can pee and fuel at the same time... :D :D :D

... mulltitasking... just start the fuel pumps then trot in for a pee and by the time I'm backs the pumps are finished. Saves time.

I know you don't do that, because it is not legal or safe.
We all know that we have to stay with our truck while pumping fuel for safety reasons.

I roll in start the pump go to the other side start the pump. Jump up and wash my outside windows real quick, by the time I'm done with the microfiber the drivers pump kicks off I jump down throw the hood over, lull the nozzle out and then the riders side kicks off. Go across pull it out and pull up to the line then go get my ticket and some food if there was no one behind me. Jump in roll out.

i was walking in a pilot to shower just the other day. The truck closest to the door was fueling and the driver was sitting in the cab doing who knows what, chilling perhaps. The nozzle shutoff had failed. Fuel was just pumping all over the ramp. I wonder how many gallons were dumped before I could run over and shut it off. He was a company driver so I'm sure he didn't sweat the cost. Just something to think about. Those shutoffs are pretty dependable but the cost of failure is pretty high. I'll run in and pee first, then fuel and do windows at the same time.
