Once ran into a trooper with a sense of humor for once. He looked at my logbook and I was okay, but then he insisted that I show him my last fuel receipt. It was time stamped and didn't match the book.
He took the last five pages and tore them up, saying,
"Hey, Son. This isn't a class in creative writing."![]()
How many books do you use

Muleskinner <strong>"Shining Beacon of Chickenlights"</strong>
Amen to that Hound,I'm always up for a customized trip....DESTROY used pages that don't hold up to your standards tho'
.Don't just wad them up and throw them in a garbage can at a fuel island.

LOL, good to see your movin a bit. I was getting worried.

Going to the sleeper while they load/unload you is fine. Understand the driver gains no more time on his 14 hour if he was to log it as on-duty time. Just because you log sleeper it doesn't mean you are sleeping and the only way for that break to count is if you had 8 hours in the sleeper (again doesn't mean you slept that 8, however if it can be proven then you could be held liable for an accident).
I just wanted to make sure you understood that part, logging sleeper doesn't give you more hours on your 11 or 14.. The only way to extend (stop the clock) is to have 8 hours in the SLEEPER. It does not give you more driving hours it only allows you to finish out what you didn't get finished prior to the 8 hour break.
Not trying to get off subject just the way I read your reply made me wonder if you understood (which you might fully understand
)
Have a great night -
I was stopped at a scale one day. and the DOT man asked me for my log book, I asked which one? A new book, last months book, or this months book.
He was HOT. I was only working 10 A day and 4 days a week. It was funny, He kept me 3 hours and could find nothing. I thanked him for the time. He said why? Oh I'm paid by the hour, and you just gave me 3 hours of overtime.
the LOOK on his face. That is life I guess.

Ouch did you get fined?

Now if DOT comes inside the office to do a DOT audit they check more than fuel & scale receipts. They check EVERYTHING! If it has a date, they check the date and most of the time look for # least 15 minutes on line 4. If it has a date & time they look to make sure you was there at that specific time (giving the time zone you log) and date. Now the biggest thing is to make sure your log reflects you being there for the time frame you really was there. The next thing DOT is currently looking at when they audit the companies is the driver logged it on line 4. Most anything you do is going to take a minimum of 15 minutes of line 4. Fuel, Scale, Load etc. If I can prove it took longer then you would need to log how much ever time it took you to "deal" with it.

That's PRICELESS

Could explain that better.
On the FMCSA site, it said that if you log "OFF Duty Not Driving" and flag it you get "extended". There are many times when I have to wait 2 or three hours for a load and It's logged accordingly. At least that's my interpretation of the FMCSA's reg site.
