I don't know about other states, but in my home state, one can go to the local DMV office and obtain their personal MVR. One can also check with the appropriate agency to obtain their personal criminal background. I did both prior to enrolling in school. If your state allows the same, I'd go to the time and expense to find out exactly what is showing up on your MVR and criminal history. If the convictions don't show up on either report, I'd suggest that you don't have anything to worry about.
Good luck!

1 dui is too many but 20 years ago i dont see a problem as long as the company dont go to canada. most companys say in the last 3 5 or 10 years although some say no dui ever. you just got to do some research. i dont see a problem but you could kiss fedex and places like that goodbye. they are hard to get on with.

You don't. Once a conviction is on your record it's just there.
By the way.......one DUI is too many.

I just gotta ask how do you get caught that many times...I had one a long long time ago..and I learned my lesson...if drinking i sure aint driving.GAPrincess Thanks this.

does it matter?

Don't know. I had 3 during the early 1980's (81, 82, 82) and I have never had a problem getting into Canada

My question is who would you want driving for you, someone with a 15-30 year old dui or someone with accidents?? It appears to me most companies forgive accidents quicker than dui. Some people learn their lessons in life some dont,I got two one was 30 yrs the other 24 ago I learned! But to pay for it for the rest of your life?? If a company wouldnt hire me because of them I wouldnt want to work for them anyway!!

In most Canadian Provinces a DUI conviction is akin to Murder. Canada requires some extremely expensive documents in order to clear Customs and/or receive a C-TPAT/FAST card if you've had a DUI. Apparently the ones that have been cleared through customs without the documentation have been terribly lucky, or are not required to be certified through C-TPAT/FAST.

I agree 1 is to many. You are taking the lives of others in your irresponsible drunk hands. When you drink and drive and get caught, you get what you deserve. As a member of our local Fire dept. I see first hand the results of drinking and driving. It is usually the non-drinking people, in an accident, that get the worst injuries. I have seen too many children badly hurt because of people like you and your actions.
Think about it, how would you like to be driving along with your family, or just by yourself, and be hit by a drunk. Chances are you will get a ride in the bird( Lifeflight), get to spend some time resting in a nice white bed with plenty of nurses running around waking you up at all hours of the night, then you get to do the REHAB thing if you are lucky. After all that you get to put up with the pain and inconvienence of sore bones and muscles the rest of your life because of 1 drunk driver.
All the while, the drunk, usually gets out of jail, pays his fines and goes out and does it all over again to someone else. I know people here in town that have had 3-5 DUIs and still drive. The laws are screwwed up in that way but if you have the $$$$$$ you can keep doing it.
Sorry for the sermon, but I DO NOT PUT UP WITH DRUNK DRIVER!! They get NO simpothy from me!!!

Everyone assumes the person was driving blitzed.
The limit was a joke before the next two times it was brought down by insurance companies.
No I've never had a DUI.
