The short answer is yes, in most circumstances, it's fast enough, but, you are looking at close to a gig per movie. 5 movies and you've used up your monthly ration. Even the grandfathered "unlimited" plans from Verizon and Sprint, you can't really do this. If you watch one movie a day, you're looking at 25-30 gigs a month. Sprint will cancel your account for using that much.

I do Netflix and Hulu, but only if I'm on a wifi connection.

I've found that if you want to watch streaming video, then get a good smartphone with a 3-4" screen. The only phone I know of that has a data cap is the iPhone. The rest of them, you can watch tv on them all day long with no limits.

As far as I know, you need to download connection software from AT&T and call them and add the plan. If you need help setting it up, go to the AT&T user forums, someone will help you there.

Nothing special is required to run AT$T,just plug in the Sim card to your device(modem)
    and go.

Its my understanding the exe: is now loaded on all Sim cards

I have an internal modem, others require the external USB style(air card)

The newest Android phones have HDMI outputs. This sounds like the way to go for TV. Simply hook the phone to a flat screen TV. Anyone doing this yet?

The sprint guys didn't tell me about all of that when I went in a couple weeks ago to check on the prices etc... I asked them about NetFlix and they were like, "it will work great". lol Glad I didn't get one cause I'd have been pisssed. lol:biggrin_25510:

Well technically, they aren't lying. It will work. I have the grandfathered unlimited, and there for a while, after I first got it, I was going to Hulu.com and using my laptop as a tv. It took about 2 months and I got a letter from Sprint telling me to knock it off or they would cancel my account. I can go 2-3 gigs over and they don't say much, but when you start using over 10 a month consistently, they will threaten to turn card off.

Actually.....verizon bought all of Alltel but the govt said No, you have a monopoly, so they had to sell 10%. Where I live was bought by a very small company out of New England. They promised the same coverage and service but they lied. All they did was keep the Alltel name and added their worthless service/coverage,etc. It may be different where you are, your Alltel may have been bought by AT&T. I would check into it though.

I use Millenicom. They are a contractor with Verizon and ATT 3g networks. You can get a usb card for 60 bucks flat monthly rate, no taxes or fees just 60 bucks. The biggest sellign point for me was NO OVERAGE CHARGES. They used to be completely unlimited data, but Verizon made a fit about ppl switching from them to Millenicom. Now its an invisible 5 gig limit. You can go over, but they will send an email asking to please refrain from using too much data. The best part is, its no contract. If you end up not wanting it 6 months later, just send the usb card back and your done. No cancellation fee. They have full access to all verizon and att cell towers. U just have to choose between att towers or verizon, you can't have both. Unless you get a card for both.

Verizon 3g/4g card here.. Works great. I mainly use it for checking various forums, email, and a couple videos on you tube and a couple other things. I know I can't download a lot with it, but it's good for some easy NET access and beats having to log into the truck stop WiFi service every time.

    Good coverage soo far. .:)
