I was used to driving trucks with less than 300k miles, and when I bought my truck, my mechanical problems quadrupled. Part of it had to do with not taking a mechanic with me to check out the truck. After several repairs and learning a lot about mechanical work, my truck only has about twice as many mechanical problems as newer trucks.
