One of the drawbacks with buying used trucks is that they have more mechanical problems than newer trucks. I was used to driving trucks with less than 300k miles, and when I bought my truck, my mechanical problems quadrupled. Part of it had to do with not taking a mechanic with me to check out the truck. After several repairs and learning a lot about mechanical work, my truck only has about twice as many mechanical problems as newer trucks.

History, paperwork, maintenance of the truck is more important than the milage. If you're more focused on the miles, then you could be in for a hell of surprises. JMO
