I have just over 1. No tickets or accidents in a truck (knock wood) but I've had a few in my car

About 2 million miles here. Been driving for about 31 years. Started out in
A gravel truck then logging trucks so didnt keep track of miles for the first
    Ten years or so.
No crashes but hit a few deer and a moose over the years.
Ya a few tickets as well.

About 1.5m here. Had a lady pull out on me and do a swoop an squat in 99, felt the shingles starting to slide off the trailer and decided "hey if she wants a check shes gonna earn this one" Came off the breaks and sent her flying a good 20 yards. (I had witnesses with me but I got a ding) Other than that no accidents. A ticket here and there nothing huge though.

I have been driving Trucks since age 17,I started out in The Army, even though some might say that experience doesn`t count, well If i have experienced it for myself, what is it....Experience.I still do many things today that was instilled on me back then, drive with my lights on,yes even during the day.
I always do a pre trip regardless of the weather, because we all know with things like CSA now you the driver are held with more responsibility.
But lets says your working for A Company who likes to take short cuts and band-aid the equipment,My advice start looking for a new job,Yes nothing is perfect, but YOU the driver are responsible 1st for the safety of the vehicle, those around (Motoring public)and last yourself,Put others before you.
I am by far not perfect,I have had some incidents, some wrecks both my fault and not my fault.4 tickets in the truck.3 tickets I have beat because local cop wrote me up under a different catagory, other than trucking regulations and after presenting my testimony to the Judge, she sided with me.(Very rare) But I did my homework and was well prepared, respectful and reserved.
My attitude sometimes gets the best of me,But with help from others who have shown me POSITIVE actions lead to better results,I am striving to make my life, doing what I love better.Yes I still love driving and still love trucking, even though due to over-regulation and other constraints within in the Industry.
Making POSITIVE decisions doesn`t happen overnight,it is learned, and sometimes hard lessons learned in many ways.
I have changed my outlook on life in general, making POSITIVE changes not just for myself, but for my family as well.
I now have HIGH STANDARDS..when looking for employment,I will no longer just jump on any job offer that comes along, again change the STANDARDS.
Set the bar HIGH,when looking at A Company ask alot of questions,if you ask too many and they seem agitated,MOVE ON
Bid them a good day and farewell.
I am becoming more of an observer and less of an Instigator,But if you see another driver struggling to back in or even just slide the tandems, get out and help them, instead of sitting on the Cb and making fun of them,Remember none of us out here, day in and day out are PERFECT,we all have been in so many situations ourselves and have been helped by someone,I know I have.
With so much turmoil in the world today, what could it hurt just to help your fellow man or woman.
I also have strong beliefs in paying it forward, for many who have helped me,I have helped others
To the guys just starting out,I just hope when you are with A Trainer you zip the lip and listen, hopefully you might learn something.I`m still learning everyday and throughout life you never stop learning, open your mind and free your spirit.
My thoughts on Trainer`s,i have seen some good and some no so good,I myself was A Trainer once. The sad reality about that job,I have had potential drivers beg me to pass them, regardless of how long it takes them to get "the hang of things"I`ve even been offered Bribes, never taken...Why because I have a thing called "STANDARDS",I also have been Issued Death threats from Drivers I have failed,so long story short,I will never train any drivers again period for any company unless they adhere to my "High standards".If the company wants to push them through because they need a seat filled,RUN and RUN FAR....

2 Million miles. Without an accident, or a ticket.

If you've done it, it's not bragging.

I hit the million mile mark in 1994 since then I quit counting spotless record no tickets, when CDL came in 1990? there was an amnesty period where we serendered all our out of state driver licences and only kept our home states. our trucking company had us get a license in every state we ran that way if we got stopped they would only know of our tickets in there state. things sure have changed in our trade like when we would come in and say im going home to sleep they would open there drawer give us a hand full of bennies "cross tops" and say theres your sleep. with the new trucks cdl and drug testing we have the best conditions now
