You spoke the truth . All the miles all the work and worn out body, lost time and moments with wife and kids but we keep going on . Often ask myself is it worth it all. Then I sip my coffee and shift another gear.thanks for your post.

To date: 2,127,898 miles in 28 years. Accidents..well...My 2nd year driving I decided to play chicken with my trailer vs a low hanging tree branch ( tree won in a "split" decision)
No other accidents since....several tickets ranging from log book violations, overweights, and minor speeds.

About a million and a half. No accidents or moving violations.
3 or 4 no seatbelt tickets though.

Guess I've got job burn out. Don't even like driving or being exposed to the crap other drivers do. 4 years left to retirement. Going back to off road. It just isn't what it was.

Hi okiedokie, don't feel bad, you aren't alone. I'm in the same boat.(and totally burned out on trucking) I have 2.5 years till retirement, and mentally "X" off the days on the calender. Nowadays, a million miles isn't really that big of an accomplishment. Don't get me wrong, it's still an impressive deal, but I think back to my 1st TT job in the late 70's, my boss bragged that he had a million miles, and that was in the 50's to the 70's, where it was mostly 2 lanes and through big cities, where a load from Milwaukee to the S.side of Chicago and back took all day, a LOOONG day. A million miles back then was really an impressive feat.

ROBERTCADAMS, W900AOwner and okiedokie Thank this.
