Retired 2011, started as a teen in the 60's don't know , but maybe 3 1/2 or so. I ran for GSF for over 30 years , pretty much a local type job. But zero accidents in that time. One lucky driver.

Somewhere north of 4 million, I'm sure. Hanging it up in 72 days after 39 years; too much big brother stuff now. One preventable in '85, a non-preventable in '80 and a few speeding tickets back when 55mph was the law of the land. Best part is, I probably don't need both hands to count DOT inspections...the fruits of running at night and, of course, a generous portion of luck.

another 4 mill. Great job, and 39 years is a long time. Collect SS. at 62 but you need insurance till 65 or 66. Then Medicare. Wife is 68 and already on it, but not collecting SS money.

Just been waiting for wife to turn 65, which will be in March. Was hoping to quit at 65, but she lost her job, so I had to keep working to provide her health insurance...an extra 2 years grrrrr!
Congrats on the 4 million. Looking back, kinda weird how the time and the miles have just flown by, isn't it?

Been driving since 1984. one accident, someone hit me in my passengers side tank in Detroit many years ago and blamed it on me. I hope all young drivers learn the law well. Know what is in your power. I've been in a truck that has been tried to be victimized by insurance fraud, many times. Just remember that it is "insurance fraud". No other occurance can happen in a truck other than theft. Many companies leave the day to day actions to the driver. That leaves many drivers at a loss, because they are responsible for the entire truck and load. Many don't know how to handle this. This is mostly because the Truck and load is worth more than their entire belongings. Most drivers have this misgiving when entering into a contract with a company. The company is usually only looking for a "warm body" to put into the seat that has a license and a good record. Many people fall prey to this without knowing the full details of the position and what it pertains. Applicants must know the full details of exactly what their position's duties are. As a driver, you should look up details on what is expected of you. Many companies don't list these details on purpose.

2 million in 25 years. I've done every stupid thing you can dream up. Been really fortunate to not have any accidents with cars or other trucks. Knock on wood.

20+ years safe driving no accident, no incidents, no mishaps, only a small cross dump of Regular to non-lead Regular. 19 ½ years ago, No tickets, or any write up on a truck.

    Was I ever lucky.
